With many sports, activities, and venues shut down during the coronavirus pandemic, take your family on a hike or bike ride on the many beautiful and well-maintained trails in Santa Clarita. A great place to start your journey is the Iron Horse Trailhead where you'll find a historic railroad trestle bridge from 1898. Located at 25311 Magic Mountain Pkwy, this location offers plenty of parking, a shaded rest area, and a water fountain, as you start your journey on the Santa Clara River Trail. We recommend the interactive map available at hikesantaclarita.com to plan your trip. A nice rest stop along your journey is the McDonald's located at 27103 McBean Pkwy, where you can use mobile order for snacks and refreshments.
Near the bridge, there is an art installation called the Crossroads at Iron Horse Trailhead highlights 5 historic landmarks of Santa Clarita, including Melody Ranch, Oak of the Golden Dream, Newhall Ranch, Lyons Station, and Mentryville.
There are trails leading under the bridge so enjoy the off-road path too. This is a popular spot for photography - especially around the railroad bridge. Consider your next family photo shoot at this location!
