Santa Clarita Summers for Families

June 14, 2022

Santa Clarita is primarily known for the Six Flags Magic Mountain theme park which has been a fixture in the Santa Clarita Valley for the last 50 years followed by its’ sister water park Hurricane Harbor. During the summer months you can count on a good showing of the locals at both parks along with droves of park visitors from all points of United States with some international visitors sprinkled in for good measure. However, many visitors, and even some newer transplants, might be surprised with all the other adventures Santa Clarita has to offer.

One great place to start your inquiry is with the local Recreation and Community Services Department of the City of Santa Clarita. You can find City Information and Recreation Class Schedules in the City of Santa Clarita Seasons magazine. Printed every 3 months as the title suggests, the Seasons magazine is a great resource for events and classes taking place in the Santa Clarita Valley. More information regarding what the City of Santa Clarita has to offer to residents and visitors can be found at www.santa-clarita.com.

Many tend to forget that Santa Clarita is still within Los Angeles County and there are many parks and libraries serviced by the County of Los Angeles. In fact, there are five county parks, a county trail, and a county library within the Santa Clarita Valley as well as other amenities and programs.
